I wonder about how people view me.

It seems like everybody drops me into a different bucket. I've had people refer to me as frat boy-ish, a nerd, and most things in-between. I guess it depends on when people have met me.

The folks I know from high school most likely remember me as a nerdy kid who was weird, but ended off things hanging out with some of the guys who partied a lot. I met a lot of people through drama and music competitions in high school, so there's people who associate me with that. I was really apathetic in high school, yet I did well enough on tests to keep myself in the AP classes and whatnot. I suppose I could have had a good GPA if I ever felt like working on it, but most classes were boring. I didn't care enough to work on them. Anything that interested me, I'd get an A. Anything that didn't, I'd get a high C, low B.

In college I was the person doing flaming 151 shots and building industrial beer funnels. Then there are the people who knew me strictly from class where I'd be a wise-ass, asleep, or bored. One professor's class was normally beer time for me. I'd sit in the back of lecture or our lab (I didn't want to be blatant) and she'd be fine with it (This particular professor liked me quite a bit ...). Lots of people assumed I just partied all the time and wasn't really a true compsci kid, but they also didn't know the me who was raised playing with computers ... learning how edit hex for old computer games, poking at my local ISP's systems, rebuilding computers for my high school.

Suppose this is going on for a bit too long, but I guess the ending thought is - It's odd how people can come across and I wonder about the people I vaguely know - both how I perceive them and guessing how they perceive me.

It's mostly how I always remembered it.

Things in the near future:

Moving on Sunday/Monday. Budget called, left a voicemail saying "We know you have a reservation but we have a shortage of trucks. Please give us a call before you head down" Oh good. Need to talk to the future roomie to work out getting there first thing in the morning. I hate Sept 1st.

Work-wise I'm finally getting a promotion of sorts. Moving over to a more technical job and I'll be clocking in a ton of billable hours for the company, so I should be looking at a solid raise. I'll be doing something I enjoy more too. All around good times.

Football season starts in under a week. Yay. Holly filled a spot in my Fantasy Football league (which is mostly just co-workers/former co-workers) so that should be interesting.

Real anxious for the next 5-6 days to go by as fast as possible.

People are upset for vague reasons. This comes after the Clinton camp claiming Obama was some crazy Muslim who was going to turn the U.S. into Iran.

I understand that Clinton and Obama both would love to win the Primary, but don't you think it's hurting the party as a whole? The Republicans are getting free smear-jobs of the Democratic candidates. Oh hey, and by the way ... Nader decided he wants to come on in and syphon off some votes from libtards who are foolish enough to waste their vote on him. Great. Can't we just focus on undoing the mess our current President has caused, then worry about pushing those aggressive platforms that will never gain traction in the current Congress anyway ...
Such a great weekend of football ...

Pats win. Colts lose. Cowboys lose and To cries.

Now I get to watch the Pats completely demolish the Chargers ... I hope Rivers mouths off to the wrong fan and gets his teeth kicked in.

The writers strike sucks and all, but American Gladiators? Oh hell yes. Roid raging meatheads ftw.

TMZ says:

Unimpeachable sources tell TMZ the deal was sealed yesterday, and that Hilton made her exit early this morning.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Department will hold a news conference in an hour to discuss what went down.

So, to recap, what was originally a 45 day sentence in jail became a 23 day sentence with a hand picked cellmate and then eventually a three day stay in a private cell. And even though she's the angel of death behind the wheel, she’ll be back on the road by noon. Fantastic.

Wtf. The U.S. legal system is such a fucking joke. If any old joe schmo did this they'd get a year of jailtime and that'd be that. Hell, even Martha did her time.

In other news Ottawa got their asses handed to them 2-6, thus ending their shot at the Stanley Cup. This brings me pleasure. Fucking Ottawa.
